Most likely, the only damage was that the belt broke. Fortunately, changing a belt is very easy for you to do yourself. While you are at it, you should also remove any threads, carpet fiber, and hair from the brush roll and any dirt build-up under the brush cover. Debris around the brush not only makes it harder to turn, it reduces the brush’s ability to clean your carpet. Clogged passages within the dust cover reduces the vacuum’s efficiency.
Your Bissell CleanView requires a Bissell style 9 replacement belt, part number 32074, a Philips head screw driver, and scissors.
-
Start by unplugging the vacuum cleaner and turning it upside down.
-
Remove the 5 screws and lift off the cover.
-
Remove the brush by lifting from each end. Clean any debris from the brush, belt drive areas, and housing.
-
Install the new belt over the motor, then over the brush roll, then slide the brush roll into place within the housing.
-
Rotate the brush by hand to see that the belt is installed correctly and the brush moves freely.
-
Reinstall the brush cover and screws.
It will be helpful to have your vacuum manual handy during this process for reference.
