Dyson Vacuum Cleaners - The Original Cyclone Vacuum That Never Loses Suction

Dyson Vacuum Cleaner Technology

Believing that "things should work properly," James Dyson set out to reinvent the vacuum cleaner, one that doesn’t clog or lose suction. Enter his invention … cyclone vacuum technology.

This revolutionary technology not only transformed the vacuum cleaner industry, but the way people clean their homes.

With powerful suction and HEPA filtration, the Dyson bagless vacuum cleaner captures and retains microscopic allergens. All it releases is clean air. Dyson vacuum cleaners are so efficient at capturing microscopic dirt that every upright and canister is approved by the British Allergy Foundation and certified "Asthma Friendly" by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America.

Dyson offers a wide variety of upright and canister vacuums to choose from. Many of which can be purchased at a local retailer or online at Amazon.com. Amazon also carries many Dyson vacuum cleaner accessories, filters, and parts.

The Dyson Vacuum Cleaner And Clean Air

One in three people suffer from allergies. Most are triggered by common household allergens like pollen, pet dander, and mold. Because of their microscopic size, they can be difficult to remove effectively from the home.

Dyson machines use powerful Root Cyclone™ technology to capture more microscopic allergens than other cyclones. And, unlike others, they keep hold of it too.

That’s why the air expelled by a Dyson vacuum cleaner contains up to 200 times less bacteria and mold than the air you breathe.

Some Dyson machines combine Root Cyclone™ technology with a core separator, so they’re even more efficient at capturing microscopic dust – even as small as 0.5 microns.

Dyson Vacuum Cleaners – Built To Last

Dyson vacuum cleaners are made using the strongest materials available – in fact, the same materials as those used in crash helmets and riot shields. The materials have to be tough and durable to endure over 550 tests during development, including being:

  • Switched on/off 20,000 times.
  • Pushed 4,451,511 feet (over 843 miles).
  • Hoses kinked 7,280 times.
  • Dust Bin opened 1,560 times.

One of the tests, called the tumble test, shakes and rattles components in a steel box for days. Another repeatedly slams cleaner heads into a steel table leg at 18.6 mph (30 kph). And a robot arm pushes machines back and forth for the equivalent of 21 years.

Being able to pass all these tests is why all uprights and canisters come with a 5 year parts and labor guarantee.

Dyson Vacuum Cleaner Features

Dyson Cyclone Technology

Power

All Dyson vacuums, upright, canister, and handheld alike, employ the very powerful, patented Root Cyclone™ technology, with motors ranging up to 1,500 Watts depending on the model. However, since the true cleaning power of a vacuum is best measured in airflow, or suction power, the more important numbers to look for are those for airflow, or airwatts. Dyson vacuums have excellent suction power ranging up to 280 airwatts, depending on the model.

Filters

All Dyson vacuums are “bagless”. There are no bags or filters to buy, EVER!

Models

Dyson offers a wide range of upright, canister, and handheld vacuums to suit different types of flooring surfaces and personal needs. When deciding which model of Dyson vacuum is best for you consider the following:

  • Canister vacuums tend to be smaller, more compact cleaners that follow behind you. Uprights are generally larger machines that you push in front.
  • If you have hard floors, it is best that your Dyson has either no brushbar, or one that can be turned off to prevent scratching.
  • On carpets, a rotating brushbar works better because the brushes sweep dust and dirt from deep within the carpet pile.
  • Several Dyson products are lighter in weight and so easier to push and carry. These are ideal if you have back problems or prefer a lighter cleaner.
  • Dyson’s more powerful cleaners tend to be a little heavier, particularly uprights, but these are ideal if you want the highest suction power.
  • HEPA filtration removes allergens and dust mites from the air, so the air expelled from a Dyson is up to 200 times cleaner than the air you breathe! Select a HEPA filter if you, or anyone in your household, suffers from allergies, or if high filtration is important to you.
  • Pet hair around the home can be very difficult to get rid of. A rotating brush bar will help remove pet hair from your carpets.
  • Special tools like the Mini Turbo-brush are ideal for confined spaces such as upholstery, stairs, and the car.
  • Some Dyson products are designed to compact down, so they store in a small space. If you have limited space in which to store your Dyson, consider one of these models.
