The Bissell QuickSteamer® 2080 assembles with just three screws, going from box to cleaning carpet in minutes! The solution tank is marked, eliminating the need for measuring, simply fill to the “Formula” line with the Bissell cleaning concentrate of choice, then fill to the “water” line with hot tap water. Install the cap and slide the solution tank into the back of the handle and you’re ready to go.

Bissell includes a 16 ounce bottle of Fiber Cleansing Formula along with the QuickSteamer Deep Cleaner which makes approximately 21 quarts of carpet cleaning solution, that equates to 10-1/2 tanks. Each full tank of cleaning solution is enough to clean approximately 32 to 64 square feet of carpet area, for a total of 336 to 672 square feet of total coverage under optimal conditions. These amounts will vary based on how much cleaning solution is being released into the carpet while cleaning.

Operation is straight forward. Large, well-marked, foot activated pedals control the handle release and ON/OFF switch, both conveniently located on the back of the carpet cleaner. Application of the solution is controlled by a trigger built into the QuickSteamer’s handle. Squeezing the trigger forces warm cleaning solution deep into the carpet, while the brush roll vigorously works the solution into carpet fibers to loosen embedded dirt and grime. The Bissell QuickSteamer deep cleaner then uses strong vacuum suction to draw the dirt and liquid out of the carpet, resulting in deep cleaning. Emptying the recovery tank every time the solution tank is refilled will prevent messy spills and possible damage to the QuickSteamer due to an overflow.

TIP: Place the Bissell QuickSteamer on a hard, waterproof surface before emptying the extraction tank. This will make clean up of drips and accidental spills hassle free.

Our test area consisted of carpet that ranged from zero traffic, to moderate traffic, to a heavily soiled area where pets enjoy laying. While there was no visible dirt in the zero traffic area, the extracted liquid proved otherwise. The moderate traffic area showed ground in dirt, not only was this born out by the extraction, there was visual improvement after cleaning. The pet area, dark with dirt and body oils, showed the least improvement, while the extraction was productive, there was little visual change to the area, even after pretreating. On a positive note, there were several areas where pet vomit or accidents had occurred. These stains were completely removed by the Quick Steamer Carpet Cleaner. With the optional bare floor accessory the QuickSteamer cleans a multitude of bare floor surfaces as well. The test model Bissell sent us was not equipped with this option, it is standard equipment, however, on the Bissell QuickSteamer 2090. See our side-by-side comparison of the Bissell QuickSteamer Deep Cleaner line-up for more details.

Using a home carpet cleaning system will keep carpets looking clean and fresh between professional cleanings. A clean carpet means a healthier home for your family and your pets. As an added bonus, the use of a carpet cleaner will prove the quality of your vacuum cleaner. How? It is standard practice to vacuum the carpet well before attempting to clean with a carpet cleaner. If after having vacuumed your carpet well, your Bissell QuickSteamer is still pulling up large quantities of hair or silt, then your vacuum is not doing its job, you should consider replacing it with a better vacuum.

Conclusion

The Bissell QuickSteamer Deep Cleaner is a surprising performer. It is small, lightweight, and maneuverable, perfectly suited to cleaning everyday messes, spots, and small areas. The overwhelming majority of consumer reviews are positive for both performance and value of the QuickSteamer, and we agree, at less than $100, the Bissell QuickSteamer does a great job. While the Quick Steamer will do larger areas, it will take a very long time, a full-sized carpet cleaner such as the Bissell ProHeat 2X® or the Hoover Steam Vac with Clean Surge, would be a better choice.

Comments

  1. Yohance says:

I really like this little machine for spotting pet accidents and cleaning up small dirty traffic lanes.

  2. A friend of mine actually owns a Bissel carpet cleaner machine. I’ve used it couple of time at his house. I do agree that they do offer value for money.
But they will not replace an occasional proper soil extraction cleaning, especially pre-spray and brush agitation, followed by extraction rinsing.
Carpet cleaning is important in the home. If you DIY then getting worthwhile results is equally as important.

  3. As a professional carpet cleaner,I always tell my clients that there is nothing wrong with diy carpet machines for spot cleaning. But for major carpet cleaning(whole house) it’s best to leave it to the pros. Most diyers use way more chemicals than they need to use, leaving behind too many residuals behind. It’s time consuming, back breaking work without the proper professional equipment.
